American Eagle Outfitters, Inc., known as known as American Eagle, is an American lifestyle, clothing, and accessories retailer headquartered at SouthSide Works in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1977 by brothers Jerry and Mark Silverman as a subsidiary of Retail Ventures, Inc., a company that also owned and operated Silverman's Menswear. The Silvermans sold their ownership interests in 1991 to Jacob Price of Knoxville, Tennessee. American Eagle Outfitters is also the parent company of Aerie.

Reddit got some reviews from a question trown surver called Love/Hate: American Eagle, A custumer shared some thoughts of dislike: -they still have a lot of branding on some items which irks me -they don't have most washes in all cuts for their denim - Most of the washes they list online are for the relaxed or boot cuts - Even for the price some of their stuff feels incredibly cheap and poorly made - I will never touch their footwear. You can get better of nearly everything they offer either for cheaper or a more reasonable price.
